Pérez left for Milton Keynes after Spanish Grand Prix: "Had very constructive discussions"

Sergio Pérez went to Milton Keynes after the Spanish Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing driver says he had a number of "very constructive conversations" there. The Mexican says that this has truly helped him, and he trusts that he can perform at his best again this weekend at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

After two disappointing weekends in Monaco and Spain, Pérez saw his chances of winning the world championship diminish significantly. While the Mexican driver only managed to score twelve points, Max Verstappen rang in the maximum points twice. Pérez's deficit has now grown to 53 points, and the world title seems further away than ever. After the Spanish GP, the 33-year-old traveled to Milton Keynes to assess what can be improved.

"I went to Milton Keynes after the Spanish Grand Prix. We have worked hard with the team, done a lot of great work, and had some very constructive conversations," Pérez said in a Red Bull press release. "I know what I need to do to regain my form, and as a team, we know how to get the car into a window where I will perform at my best. As a team, it is more important than ever to get through these moments, and we will support each other to go for victory in Canada."

Pérez knows what he needs to do in Canada

According to him, that victory is certainly achievable. The 33-year-old Mexican knows exactly what he has to do to increase his chances. "I have a fantastic car, and it's always fun to get behind the wheel. In Montreal, I need to be incredibly consistent and deliver a flawless weekend. I'm looking forward to the weekend," Pérez concludes.
