Red Bull Racing will bring new components to the Hungarian Grand Prix, aiming to make the RB19 two tenths faster per lap. The upgrade involves modifications to the car's bodywork, resulting in a noticeable visual change to the vehicle. The bad news for the competition doesn't end there. Red Bull plans to continue introducing new components even after the summer break, in order to learn as much as possible for 2024.
In the upcoming Grand Prix weekend, Red Bull hopes to increase the gap to their rivals once again. "Despite their significant lead, Red Bull won't rest on their laurels and will continue bringing upgrades," reports Auto, Motor und Sport. Max Verstappen had previously announced that Red Bull would introduce new components for the Hungarian Grand Prix. While the Dutch driver highlighted areas for improvement, it remains to be seen if the Austrian team will be able to improve all aspects in the upcoming race.
The update Red Bull is bringing to the Hungaroring will be a fairly significant one. "The team will focus on the bodywork, particularly the sidepods." Other teams have been trying to replicate the concept of the RB19's design in recent months, but Red Bull sees room for improvement in the design. "It will be an obvious change. Someone within the team told me that it will not only make the car faster but it will also look better," says Andreas Haupt.
Given the reigning world champion's significant lead, the update is bad news for the competition. "The upgrades will make Red Bull approximately two tenths faster." Additionally, the competition will also not be happy with the Austrian team's development plan. "The team has indicated that they won't stop the development of the RB19 after the summer break. Red Bull intends to continue introducing new components as it also helps them learn for the 2024 car due to the stability in the regulations."
