However, according to Horner, Ricciardo should not anticipate a permanent seat at Red Bull. In an interview with PlanetF1.com, the team boss stated, "It is certainly not something we are planning." Nonetheless, Horner expresses his contentment with Ricciardo's inclusion in the team this year, asserting, "That has unquestionably been the right move for us. This way, he remains engaged in the sport."

According to Horner, it is nearly inconceivable to imagine Formula One without Ricciardo. "It would have been a significant loss for the sport if he was no longer involved. In recent years, I hardly recognized him; he seemed to have lost some of his enthusiasm and speed." The team boss eagerly awaits next week's test, hoping to witness the resurgence of the "old Ricciardo." "I am extremely curious to see what he brings to the table. This test holds significance for Pirelli, but it's particularly exciting to see him back in a Red Bull car." This will be Ricciardo's first opportunity to drive an F1 car since his departure from McLaren, making it a momentous occasion for the reserve driver.
